Hormonal changes

There is a loosening of ligaments, especially in the pelvic area, in preparation for childbirth. This brings more flexibility to the body, but also instability.

Change of posture 

With a growing belly, the center of gravity shifts forward and the body posture changes significantly. This can lead to overloading due to inappropriate compensation.

Weight change as the baby grows

Even the increase in weight itself increases the load on the joints and demands on individual muscle groups.

Little movement or incorrect load

Whether due to general fatigue, pain or nausea, natural movement can decrease during pregnancy. It is therefore advisable to include at least compensatory exercise.

There are many causes (apart from general influences such as a sedentary lifestyle, lack of exercise or sleep) that can have a major impact on the functionality of the muscles or joints in the pelvic and lumbar region.
